The Advantages to be Had From Fast Shipping
There's a horror story at every business about when they tried to have products shipped from somewhere and the whole thing became a huge mess. Imagine ordering light fixtures, paying good money, waiting for them to be delivered on the specified day only to see nothing. Then, when you contact the provider you're treated with contempt and told that it's the delivery company's fault and not their problem. After all, they've already got your payment.
This is why it's common sense to look into the provider's history and check that the lighting company you're dealing with is reputable. You can use the internet to your advantage and look for lighting stores. Pay special attention to their shipping details and maybe fire off an email or two to enquire about their arrangements.
Generally, the more established companies will have some great deals on shipping. But how do you tell an established company from a new one? Most organizational web sites will have an 'about us' page that clearly details the organizations history, including the amount of time it's been in business.
However if you are dealing with the real company you should find good information on the "about us" page. Generally these companies have been around a while and will offer faster shipping.
A FAQ (frequently asked questions) page is also a good place to research a web site. The company will usually have encountered a lot of usual questions and common problems in the past that is displays on the web site. Shipping and handling questions are very common and people should check this area before asking any questions of the provider (They will probably just direct you to their FAQ page anyway).
Dealing with a company that carries a wide variety and good depth of stock is also a way to get your goods fast. Often, small operators try to give an impression that they are bigger than they really are (something common on the web). This creates a problem in that they have to order everything in when they receive their own orders. By dealing with a large provider, they'll have your stock there in the store when you order.
A good shipping department is also important and a good reason to avoid amateurs. There are countless horror stories from bad shipping departments where stock has either been lost or damaged. You need to find a supplier that you know you can give your order to with confidence because you're just wasting your time if your goods get lost or damaged.
Delivery hassles and bad service are things everyone can do without. Customers really deserve the best service they can get and good quality organizations share this sentiment. It's not hard for a provider to ensure that you get your goods as promised, so don't put up with bad service.
