Everyone who makes a purchase over the internet wants convenience, that's why they do it. This can become a distinct inconvenience if the product is then not delivered on time, or even worse, not at all. And, that's probably the last thing anyone wants.

It can be extremely frustrating when your orders go astray. When you order lights you want the product delivered promptly because you need to arrange fitting. A late delivery of lighting fixtures could mean delays with the rest of your decorating ideas.

So how can you ensure that your products will be delivered on the day promised and in a safe and sound state? The easiest way is to do some homework on the company you're thinking of dealing with. Look for these indicators:

* Established companies can be relied on: don't take chances with new companies that promise the world and offer ridiculously low prices. There always has to be a catch.

* A good FAQ page: a good company will have a comprehensive FAQ page made up of all the common questions that their customers have asked over the years that the company has been in business.

* A good variety: established companies will have a good variety of products and ask if they have the product in stock when you order. Whether they have the product in stock or not will indicate the depth of stock they carry and an item in stock should get to you faster than one that has to be ordered in.

When looking for shipping and handling information check these inicators:

* FAQ: Look for indications of how much time it will take to ship items on average. An organization that has been in business for a while will know exactly how long it takes for their items to be shipped to various states and perhaps even countries.

* Link to shipping and handling provider : If they outsource shipping and handling, check out the company that provides that service.

What about a way to tell if the company you're dealing with is a middle man.

* The "about us" page: there is not much information about the company. There will be a fair bit about the real company on their "about us" page.

* Age of the company: Stay with well established companies that have lots of experience. Middle man companies generally don't last a long time.

Dealing with a middle man means you'll spend longer waiting for your order to arrive. If you purchase direct from a wholesaler you'll also receive better support.

There are many established lighting suppliers that will offer fast efficient delivery of your goods. These organizations cut down the hassle and delays in shipping and handling of your light fixtures because they know that good service ends when the customer takes delivery of the item they purchase, not the moment they receive the payment. It is worth researching the companies that you plan to do business with.
